Plan your Wedding
Would you let your husband-to-be plan your wedding day? This question is one many women ask themselves. The popular BBC 3 show, Don’t Tell The Bride, sees many ladies letting their man take the reigns, but could you do it? If you watch the show, you will know that not all the stories have a happy ending. Whether your man blows the budget on his stag do or doesn’t book the caterers, something will go wrong. If you’re considering letting your guy plan your special days, read this first.
Of course, you will wear your wedding rings for the rest of your life. That is the entire point of them. So, can you let your future husband choose them? Well, if you want to be sure that you get ones that you like, it might be a bad idea. Do you prefer gold, silver or platinum? Does your man know what you like? Does he even know your ring size? These are all questions you need to ask yourself before you let him make a decision. Let’s face it – if you want it to be right, you may need to do it yourself.
Will he find the Perfect Dress?
On your wedding day, you will want to feel like a princess. If your man chooses a dress that makes you look more like one of the ugly sisters than Cinderella, you have a problem. Of course, he might already know your dress size, but does he know what flatters your figure? Most women spend years trying to figure out what cut of clothing suits them well. If it took you that long, how can you expect him to know what is right or wrong? Your wedding dress is the most important piece of clothing you will ever buy – don’t let a man choose it.
Hen Party vs. Stag Party
One of the things that often happens on the show is that the guy plans a perfect stag do but neglects the hen party. Your bridal shower is your final party before you commit yourself to a man forever. That means that you need to enjoy it. If he is planning your party, you should talk to him about what it is you want. Be clear about how much he should spend and where you want to go. You don’t want to end up at the local pub with a tenner to spend. Make sure that it doesn’t happen.
How well does he know your taste?
Finally, you need to consider whether your partner knows your taste? Does he know what you like and don’t like? If you envision your wedding in a castle, does he know that? Does he think that the local registry office will be just as good? If you do let your man plan your special day, you need to make sure that he knows what you want. There’s no harm in having a quick chat with him to make sure you’re on the same page. After all, your wedding day should be the most magical day of your life.
