You’ve chosen your day, you’ve found the perfect venue, and now your reception has confirmed: your wedding is ready to be announced! One of the most fun parts of organising your wedding is sending out the wedding invites, and receiving those ecstatic replies! But wedding cards are getting more and more complicated these days – where on earth do you even start?
If you want personalised wedding cards and stationery, you may find that handmade wedding invitations. This will allow you to make all of the decisions yourself. What colour do you want, and what size? Do you want a photograph of you and your partner in it, or do you want to use a fancy stamp to decorate it? A wedding card should reflect the two of you, and the things that you love, and so handmade wedding stationery can continue a theme through your invitations, to place names, right through to the thank you cards. Asian wedding cards will be able to carry a theme that unites everything together, or you could pick a colour scheme, or favourite memory. By having personalised wedding invitations, you can make sure that no one else has done exactly what you have.
On the other hand, handmade wedding cards can take up a lot of your time, and if you are not particularly arty, then it can become incredibly stressful. Your wedding invitations should not be giving you grief! Instead, you could go for bespoke wedding invitations, and use a designer to create and make them. This will take the pressure off you, and allow you to concentrate on things that you get more fun out of. Bespoke wedding stationery doesn’t have to cost that must as long as you are upfront with your designer about exactly what your budget is, and what you expect from it.
Lastly, if you wedding stationery that isn’t going to break the bank, there is always the option of buying something off the shelf. This isn’t a depressing and morose option: more and more stationery shops and card shops are investing in cheap wedding cards which actually look very elegant and expensive. You can even pay packs of cheap wedding stationery that will see you through the entire wedding process, and not cost an arm and a leg.
In this modern age, more people are starting to use technology to invite people. You may decide that you don’t want to send any postal invitations at all. I’ve been to a wedding that didn’t have an Order of Service, but instead projected everything. I’ve seen video invites, and emails that ask people to ‘Save the Date’. It is completely up to you what you decide to do. You may wish to combine something electronic with something that your guests can have as a keepsake. Just make sure that, as you plan your wedding, you don’t ignore wedding stationery. It may seem monotonous, but this is the first chance you will have to put your own identity and own choices onto your wedding, for all of your guests to see. Don’t let it pass you by!
