Are you looking for a new fresh theme for your wedding? I know exactly what you mean! I’m bored of the generic wedding. I’m constantly looking for new fresh ideas and I have a beautiful one. This one maybe for the more outdoors couple, but I am absolutely in love.
Fun Fair weddings, with beautiful colours and exciting games, who would have thought it. For your setting you could have a marquee or barn, but of course you would need a fair amount of space outside for the Fun Fair activities. You could line your venue with subtle fairy lights and lanterns, and possibly some tasteful bunting. Take old wooden chairs and dress them up with some softly coloured sashes for that rustic look. With the table decoration you can pretty much mix and match! In fact why not collect different shaped jars and vases for your flowers.
What a better way to introduce your theme than save the date cards and invitations. With these there are so many styles to choose from. For save the date cards you could use ride tickets in all different colours with the carnival style font.
For your chosen attire for the day you could chose an A line tea dress which would fit in with your theme as Fun Fairs are very 1950’s! You could have your hair rolled like the 50’s girls, but make sure you have hairspray to keep them curls in. Of course with the 1950’s wear, red lipstick is a must!
In regards to entertainment for the day, it’s a Fair theme! Games, games and more games are more than appropriate! You could have many stalls with old school games such as the ring toss, whack-a-mole, high striker… and many more. For the evening entertainment, if you have the budget to support it, you could hire a band. A friend of mine hired an amazing band that got all the guests up on their feet (including many of the dads that maybe should have stayed seated). When it comes to choosing a band make sure you see them live before you pay a deposit, there is nothing that can kill a party more than awful music!
When it comes to a Fun Fair theme there are endless ideas, take a look on pinterest for more ideas, however you may literally get addicted like I am. I hope this was of some interest and if you need any help with ideas give us a call, I’m sure we can either help you or point you in the right direction to someone that can. Good luck and congratulations!
