WHATS TO LOVE?
A day to show your love for someone and remind them of your strong feelings towards that particular person, or a day to follow commercial trends and spend on flowers chocolates and meals?
Are people becoming slightly spiteful of this lovely day or is the romance still there?
Yes you can show your love to your wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend every day of the year, and have the odd surprise or meal for your yearly anniversary, but what about those who perhaps find it hard to be romantic or are too busy every other day, then why not have that one day where you can put attention and effort for your partner just for one day.
If you have children then you will probably understand that getting tied up with the kids and jobs and the house, your romance level may slip and the ‘honeymoon period’ may have lapsed. At least there is valentines day to remind you to remind your partner how much you love them and have at least that one night of the year where a lovely card will go a long way!
It may be commercialised now, and it may be cheesy, but surely its worth it for the smile you’ll put on that special someones face!
We know ourselves that we love our partner, but sometimes we may get too used to the fact we know we love them and forget to actually display this love throughout the year. This is why Valentines Day is a great day to have in our calender. Even if you don’t believe that you should show your love through a card or sweets, but you are still going to acknowledge the day and tell your sweetheart that valentines day or not you love them.
LOVELY QUOTES TO GET YOU SMILING
“Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart.”
“I’ve fallen in love many times… always with you.”
“Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.”
– Henry Van Dyke
“Love is a game that two can play and both win.”
– Eva Gabor
and my personal favourite….
“If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you’ve made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand.”
BUT I DONT HAVE ANYONE TO LOVE
You don’t have to display love for a partner, you can show your love to family and friends too!
In fact valentines can be used as an excuse to do something with your mates.
~That girly sleepover or night out for all the singletons to enjoy being single having each other. Get the chocolates in!
~ A reason to meet up with the lads down the pub and get the pints in. Who needs flowers?
The cutest part of valentines, and I think people forget about this, but this is the day for you to tell the person you like, well that they are liked… whether this is in secret or you let them know who it is from.
Don’t you remember how it was like at school? If you got a card it made your day, If you sent one then you know you’ve made someones day, And if neither happened then you weren’t fussed because it was just another day at school and you had your friends.
SO WHY NOT SPREAD THE LOVE, regardless your thoughts on valentines <3
